2019 Toyota 86 Rumors – If you know anything at all about the Toyota 86 and TRD, the first question concerning this 2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition is going to be if it has much more potential, so let’s obtain it out of the way: No. Read on.
Loads of men and women feel the 86 needs a lot more energy. They’ve been pleading for this for many years, but I’m not a single of them. I’m aboard with Toyota’s position that potential is right for the function and character of the car. It’s currently enjoyable the way it is. So much in fact that in our 2017 assessment examination, “The Leftovers,” I actually put it initially and composed an impassioned defense when I was outvoted plus it landed 3rd.
I adore the 86’s lively chassis. I love that it just enough body roll to help make a 30-mph area seem like a 60-miles per hour part. I adore that strength oversteer is in your beck and contact and that the chassis rewards with clean, foreseeable, and simply controlled drifts. It’s a ridiculous amount of enjoyable at $27,000.

Part of what makes it so fun is its wheels. Common fitment is the Bridgestone Turanza EL400-02 all-season wheel, and optional is the Michelin Primacy HP grand touring summer time wheel. Neither of them is a performance tire by any calculated, created as an alternative for too long existence and low moving amount of resistance for greater gasoline economy. Challenging and skinny, they’re easily overpowered by the 86’s 205 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque (or 200 hp and 151 lb-ft if you select the half a dozen-speed auto).
Enter in the TRD Special Edition. It features true performance auto tires, Michelin Pilot Sports 4s on new 18-in. wheels. Associated with them are Sachs dampers and Brembo braking system. If any of this sounds common, it’s since you’ve observed this motion picture well before if it was known as the Subaru BRZ Limited Performance package. It’s not exactly a carbon backup, however, as the 86 TRD receives a new rear fender, brushed steel exhaust tips, and a front splitter/three-part trunk lip spoiler combo that aren’t scored to produce true downforce and don’t impact the car’s pull coefficient. This became a special edition, it’s confined to 1,418 replicates, only comes in Raven dark with a guidebook transmission, and will get vintage ’80s TRD to peel off stickers and badges. Also on the docket: reddish interior features, reddish colored contrast sewing, and the yellow-colored/orange/red TRD logo embroidered on the dashboard.
